/ US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed on Thursday that President Joe Biden will not tolerate those who killed American soldiers in Jordan, amid reports that the United States of America will begin launching attacks on Iranian targets in Iraq and Syria within hours.

Austin said in press statements followed by Agency, “The president will not tolerate the killing of our soldiers by Iran’s extremist agents,” adding, “We will have a multi-faceted response in multiple locations.”

The US Secretary of Defense explained that “it is time to eliminate the capabilities of the terrorist groups that targeted our forces in Jordan.”

“This is a dangerous moment in the Middle East,” he added, noting that “Washington will continue to avoid expanding the scope of the conflict, but we will take the necessary measures to defend ourselves.”

The US Secretary of Defense called on Iran to “stop supplying the Houthis with weapons they use to attack ships.”

He also said, “The United States of America does not want a conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, and we are communicating with the Israelis to ensure that the war does not expand.”

These statements come shortly after US officials confirmed “the approval of plans to strike targets in Iraq and Syria that will last for days and include Iranian facilities and personnel,” according to the American CBS network.

They added, “The strikes come in response to the drone and missile attacks that targeted US forces in the region.”

On Sunday, three members of the US military were killed in a drone attack targeting a base in Jordan near the Syrian border, and Washington accused Iranian-backed factions of being behind it.
