The Congress party has taunted the Center that the value of the Indian rupee against the US dollar has passed the age of Markadharshak Mandal.

The value of the Indian Rupee has been under severe pressure since the last two Februarys. After the Russia-Ukraine war, the rupee has been depreciating badly due to rising crude oil prices, foreign investors exiting the stock market and strengthening of the dollar.

The Indian Rupee closed close to Rs 80 to close at Rs 79.99 yesterday. However, it did not touch 80 rupees. The rupee has been depreciating rapidly for the past two weeks.

The Congress party has compared the depreciation of the rupee to the age of the BJP’s Markadarshak Mandal team. In BJP, leaders above 75 years of age will be included in the Markadarshak Mandal group. Congress party and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi have teased by mentioning this.
