/ The US State Department announced imposing sanctions on American companies that support the production of Iranian drones and missiles, noting that these aircraft are used by Russia in its war against Ukraine, and by militias affiliated with Tehran to carry out attacks on American forces in the Middle East.

The State Department has imposed sanctions on four entities that operate as front companies and branches of the United States, the department said in a statement, noting that these entities have supplied sensitive materials and technology to Iran’s ballistic missile and drone programs, including Shahed-series drones used by the Russian military against Ukraine.

He added that Iranian-made drones are being used to commit acts of terrorism, including dozens of attacks by Iran-aligned militia groups on US personnel that have killed American soldiers.

Miller also noted that the Iranian-backed Houthis have launched attacks on commercial ships and U.S. naval assets using Iranian-made drones and missiles.

The spokesman stressed that “the United States is committed to using all available means to expose and hold accountable individuals and entities for contributing to the spread of the Iranian regime, which directly harms American personnel in the region and contributes to regional instability in the Middle East and Russia’s war against Ukraine.”
