Time.news – The US intelligence community has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “vitality as a leader” is “in danger”. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which coordinates the 18 US intelligence agencies, said this in a report delivered to Congress on Monday.

“Netanyahu’s viability as a leader and his governing coalition, made up of far-right and ultra-Orthodox parties that have pursued hard-line policies on Palestinian and security issues, may be in danger,” reads the report, which is published annually.

US intelligence also believes that, within Israel, “distrust” in Netanyahu’s ability to govern has “deepened and broadened” and that there will likely be “large protests calling for his resignation and new elections.”

“It is possible that a different, more moderate government will be formed”, add the intelligence agencies. Netanyahu has faced harsh domestic criticism for failing to predict and prevent the October 7 terrorist attack.
