New York: Russia’s Karan Khachanov, Norway’s Kasper Ruud, France’s Caroline Garcia and Tunisia’s Ons Jabier have entered the US Open semifinals. Khachanov defeated Australia’s Nick Kyrgios 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, 6-7 (3/7), 6-4 in a five-set men’s singles quarter-final. He will face Roode in the semis. Rudd beat Italy’s Mateye Berretini 6-1, 6-4, 7-6 (7/4).

In the women’s singles, host Coco Goff’s winning run was ended by Garcia in the quarters. The American fell 6-3, 6-4. He will face Ons Jabir in the semi-finals. Jabir became the first Arab woman to reach the last four of the US Open by defeating Aussie Ajila Thomljanovic 6-4, 7-6(4).
