The United States intends to develop a system for the rapid repair of space satellites in the event of a conflict with China.

As reported by Day.Az with reference to TASS, US Deputy Secretary of the Air Force Melissa Dalton told the Defense One portal about this.

“Space tactical response systems in the event of a satellite failure will help deliver the necessary repair kits to orbit within five days and quickly restore its operation,” the portal quotes her as saying. “This is exactly what we are testing now, and I think it will impress countries like China,” the deputy minister added.

The portal noted that the problem of repairing satellites was addressed by the aerospace company ThinkOrbital, which released a special set of tools with robotic functions.

Earlier, the National Defense Strategy Commission, in a report published by the RAND analytical center (whose activities are considered undesirable in the Russian Federation), indicated that the United States cannot compete with Russia and China alone and would not be able to win in the event of a hypothetical war with them.
