Assassination attempts expected in the United States, where guns are running wild

The fear of “rhetorical violence” was eventually transformed into “live ammunition violence.”

In the United States, where guns are left unchecked and gun violence is common, there have always been concerns that the president and presidential candidates could be targeted.

In the past, not only was President John F. Kennedy assassinated, but Democratic candidate Robert Kennedy was shot and killed in 1968, and Democratic candidate George Wallace was shot and wounded while campaigning in 1972.

(I saw this while reporting at a mall in Laurel, Maryland.)

Former President Donald Trump was speaking in front of thousands of supporters in Butler, Pennsylvania, a battleground state, when he was hit in the right ear by a bullet fired by someone (several shots were fired) and he fell.

Maybe anti-Trump elements have snuck in? Or is it the work of anti-Trump elements among Republican supporters? Are you a psychotic person?

According to NBC Television, the suspect was Thomas M. Crooks, 20, a white man from Bethle Park, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh.

Although a registered Republican, he reportedly made a $15 political donation to the Democratic Action Committee “Act Blue” in 2021. The reason is not yet known. At least they don’t appear to be extremist elements of the Democratic Party.

According to the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the suspect is said to have shot from the roof of a building far away from the venue, and a lack of security has been reported.

The question is why no aerial security precautions were taken using drones and other equipment.

Butler, about 50 kilometers from Pittsburgh, is Trump’s Kinjoyu Pond, where Trump won a landslide victory in 2016 and 2020. Moreover, the rally was held under strict security conditions and was attended by “enthusiastic Trump supporters.”

That’s where Trump was shot.

There was heavy bleeding from the tip of the right ear and a scratch on the right cheek. I fell to the side of the podium, clutching my ears.

This event was broadcast across the country on television and social media.
