The United States Secret Service repelled an attack against one of the vehicles used by agents of the security team of Naomi Biden, granddaughter of President Joe Biden, in Georgetown, one of the neighborhoods of Washington.

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi confirmed that around midnight this Monday (US time), agents of this federal agency came across what “possibly” were three individuals breaking a window of a government vehicle, which at that time was unoccupied.
“During this encounter, a federal agent fired a service weapon and it is believed that no one was injured. The criminals immediately fled the scene in a red vehicle and a regional alert was sent to support units,” Guglielmi said in a statement reported by CNN.

Guglielmi pointed out that during the event there was “no threat” to any of the people whose security is in charge of the Secret Service, and that it is already being investigated by the Washington Metropolitan Police Department.
According to a source to whom the network has had access, the agent involved is part of Naomi Biden’s security team.
