The Foreign Relations Committee of the United States Senate published on its website that “this innovative bipartisan legislation makes Uruguay eligible for trade preferences under the Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act and for visas related to trade and investment.
“By including Uruguay in existing trade preference programs and increasing visa eligibility for Uruguayan citizens, this new legislation strengthens the competitiveness of the US in the Americas and lays the foundation for a new era of economic cooperation between our nations”, added the president of the Committee.
