The 29th US Trade Show begins in Dhaka today, Thursday (May 9). The three-day exhibition will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital. 44 institutions of the country will participate in it.
The exhibition was jointly organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AMCHEM) and the US Embassy in Dhaka with the aim of showcasing American products and services in Bangladesh and increasing bilateral trade. Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman will inaugurate this year’s US Trade Show.
Commercial Counselor of the US Embassy in Dhaka John Fay and Amchem President Syed Ershad Ahmed gave details about this in a press conference at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday.
At the press conference, Amchem President Syed Ershad Ahmed said that more than 100 US products and services made by more than 44 companies will be displayed at the trade show. The exhibition will be open to all from May 9-11 from 10 am to 8 pm. Free entry per person has been fixed at Tk 30. Students will not be charged any entry fees.
John Fay, Commercial Counselor of the US Embassy in Dhaka, said this trade show will be an opportunity for US companies to display high quality products in Bangladesh. Besides, it will also help to strengthen Bangladesh’s relationship with the United States.
John Fay also said that the United States has more than 4 billion dollars in investment in Bangladesh. The number of investments is increasing day by day. Many US companies are considering investing in Bangladesh for better opportunities. As a result, this trade show will play a role in increasing the confidence of new investors.
