WASHINGTON തിനാൽ The U.S. State Department has ordered that in 2022 direct interviews be waived for certain types of visas, including H-1B, as Kovid-19 expands again. Direct interviews were excluded on H – 1B visas for professionals, H – 3 visas for training and special studies, L visas for change of company, O visas for individuals with special skills and achievements, P visas for athletes and artists, and Q visas for participants in international cultural exchange events. This also applies to H-2 visas for temporary workers, FM visas for students, and Academic J visas for student exchange programs.

This benefit is available only to those who apply at their home country consulates. However, officials at consulates are also allowed to request direct interviews in special circumstances. Those who renew their visas in 2022 will also get this benefit. The number of Kovid patients in the US is growing rapidly. About 73% of patients are infected with the new strain of Omicron.
