The strength of Polish-American relations has grown steadily in recent years; Poland is a valuable ally, partner and friend; we have common priorities and democratic values, said US Vice President Kamala Harris, who met with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Washington on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the Prime Minister traveled to Washington, where he met with US Vice President Kamala Harris. During joint statements for the media, Harris emphasized that the meeting continued talks started over a year ago, devoted to coordinating the post-Russian aggression in Ukraine. “Since then, I have been in Warsaw, in March 2022, where I was hospitably received. It was then that we showed the world the strength of our alliance against Russia’s attack,” she added.
As she recalled, during her visit to Poland, she met m.in. with President Andrzej Duda, as well as with Polish and American soldiers stationed in Poland, who “work together to defend NATO’s eastern flank.” “While in Poland, I also had the opportunity to meet refugees who were in Poland thanks to the generous hospitality of Poles,” emphasized the US Vice President.
Harris reminded that Poland was also visited by US President Joe Biden twice at that time, as well as her husband – Douglas Emhoff, who in January visited, among others, Auschwitz camp museum. “These meetings confirm a very strong alliance between Poland and the United States. I could say that the strength of our relationship has grown steadily over the past few years, to the great joy of Americans,” she said.
“Poland is a valuable ally, partner and friend; we have a lasting relationship based on common priorities and democratic values. (…) I count on further strengthening of relations between our countries,” added Kamala Harris. (PAP)
