USA: Authorities are investigating an accident involving an autonomous Cruz vehicle

by time news

According to the short report published by the NHTSA, “An autonomous Cruz vehicle operating in autonomous mode was traveling on Giri Avenue in the direction of the Spruce Street intersection. As the vehicle approached the junction, it switched to the left lane and turned left with an active signal. At the same time, the Toyota Prius moving west approached the intersection of the streets from the right lane. The Toyota was traveling at a speed of 40 miles per hour in the allowed range of 25 miles per hour. Following the approach of the Prius, Cruz’s vehicle was stopped before the turn was completed. The Toyota entered the intersection while driving straight instead of turning and hit the back of Cruz’s vehicle. “The police and emergency services were called to the scene to treat the wounded (slightly), and Cruz’s vehicle was towed away.”

It should be emphasized that it is not currently known whether Cruz’s vehicle was indeed at fault in the accident. The opening of an NHTSA investigation into the matter is a routine procedure designed to determine who is indeed at fault in the accident – and the findings of the investigation will be published in the coming months.
