An intruder is said to have entered the home of Jake Sullivan, the main security adviser to US President Joe Biden. Sullivan seems lucky and sent the man away. But the incident brings back dark memories.

According to a media report, a man broke into the home of US President Joe Biden’s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, during a nighttime incident. The man entered the house in the capital Washington unnoticed by Secret Service security officers one night at the end of April around 3 a.m. local time, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday, citing informed circles.

Sullivan approached the man and asked him to leave the house. He then alerted the Secret Service agents stationed in front of the house.

Intruder at US security adviser is said to have been drunk and confused

The intruder was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and appeared confused, the Washington Post reported. As such, there is no evidence that he knew who Sullivan was or that he intended to harm Biden’s top security adviser. There were no signs of a break-in. According to the Washington Post, it was unclear who the man was – he disappeared before Sullivan alerted Secret Service agents.

The Secret Service, which is also responsible for protecting the President, confirmed the incident to the Washington Post and other US media. An investigation was launched into how the man was able to enter the home of the national security adviser, who is under 24-hour personal protection, unnoticed.

The incident was mild; but it brought back memories of an attack on the husband of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the couple’s San Francisco home last October (read more about the incident here). The assailant, who seriously injured Paul Pelosi, then 82, with a hammer, was targeting Nancy Pelosi, one of the most prominent politicians in Biden’s Democratic Party.
