USA: “Russia intends to dissolve Ukraine from the world map”

by time news

The US ambassador to the UN said that Russia is trying to make Ukraine disappear: “There is no longer any doubt that Russia intends to dismantle Ukraine and completely dissolve it from the world map.” She said these things at the UN Security Council

Linda Thomas Greenfield, the US ambassador to the UN, told the UN Security Council that the US sees increasing signs that Russia is “laying the foundations for an attempt to annex all of the eastern regions of Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk and the southern regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Yes, including by the illegitimate appointment of officials from proxies in the regions held by Russia, with the aim of holding a referendum or a decree to issue a decree to join Russia.”

Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, “even stated that this is Russia’s war objective,” she said. Lavrov said last week at an Arab summit in Cairo that Moscow’s main goal in Ukraine is to free its people from an “unacceptable regime”.

Commenting on Moscow’s desire to seize territories beyond Ukraine’s industrial Donbas region in the east, which includes Donetsk and Luhansk, Lavrov said: “We will certainly help the Ukrainian people get rid of the regime, which is completely anti-people and anti-historical.” Russian Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky told the Security Council on Friday that “the de-Nazification and demobilization of Ukraine will be carried out in full.”

Polyansky warned the Western countries that are supplying long-range artillery and surface-to-surface missile rockets to Ukraine, saying that they are moving the “temporary security line” further westward, “and in the process further clarifying the goals and objectives of our special military operation.”

The US ambassador also criticized countries that call to “embrace diplomacy” without mentioning Russia, saying: “Let’s be clear: Russia’s continued actions are the obstacle to solving this crisis” She did not specify which countries, but a significant number of countries in Africa , Asia and the Middle East take this approach.

According to her, there is evidence that Russian forces “interrogated, arrested by force, deported, according to estimates, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens, including children – tore them from their homes and sent them to remote areas in the East.”

Nearly 2 million Ukrainian refugees have been sent to Russia, according to both Ukrainian and Russian officials. Ukraine presents these journeys as forced transfers to enemy territory, which is considered a war crime. Russia calls them a humanitarian evacuation of war victims who already speak Russian and are grateful for a new home.
