One person died and eight others were injured in two separate shootings in New Orleans last night. The police reported this, as reported by CNN. The first episode took place in the city’s Fifth District, before midnight (local time): officers found five gunshot wounds, all immediately hospitalized, but one of whom died. Two other people affected in the same assault were taken to hospital in private cars, police later learned.
In a similar incident, around 2 am, two other people were injured in the Central Business district. The conditions of the two victims are not known and the police have not yet given information on the nature of the attacks and on the possible arrest of the suspects responsible. The latest shootings follow last weekend’s one, when five people were injured in New Orleans’ famous Bourbon Street.
