USA supported Lithuania in diplomatic conflict with China

by time news

Lithuania has the support of the United States of America in the conflict with China. This was stated by the US President’s Assistant for National Security Jake Sullivan during a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Simonyte.

“Sullivan reaffirmed strong support for Lithuania from the United States, while it faces attempts at containment from the PRC,” the White House press service said in a statement.

Assistant Joe Biden also expressed gratitude to Vilnius for its principled support of democracy and human rights, including in Belarus. In addition, he condemned the organization of “illegal flows of migrants” across the Belarusian-Lithuanian border.

Let us remind you that in July Lithuania opened a representative office of Taiwan in the country, after which a diplomatic conflict with Beijing arose. Later, the PRC recalled its ambassador and invited Vilnius to do the same.
