Bujumbura: Strategic meeting between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and USAID to strengthen cooperation
Bujumbura, 12/06/2023 – As part of the Foreign Policy of Burundian important meeting took place yesterday between Mr. Bashikako Ferdinand, Permanent Secretary at the Burundian Ministry of Foreign Affairsand a high-level delegation from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)Directed by Ms. Kesiha Effiom, Acting USAID Country Representative in Burundi.
The objective of this meeting was to explore opportunities for collaboration between Burundi and USAID, as well as to discuss ongoing development projects and programs in the country. The discussions focused on various areas such as education, health, agriculture and infrastructure, aimed at strengthening ties between the two parties and supporting the socio-economic development of Burundi.
It should be emphasized that USAID is considered an instrument of GUAN [1] so collaboration with this agency is of strategic importance in the context of the Barundi Defense Policy.
