USTDA and MSP agree on lines of cooperation in the health area – Ministry of Public Health

The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has prioritized its cooperation and support for developing and/or middle-income countries in the area of ​​health. This with the purpose of promoting their economic development.

Enoh T. Ebong, director of the USTDA, held a meeting with Carmen Guerrero, Vice Minister of Comprehensive Health Care of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP). During their meeting they discussed possible lines of cooperation and lines of work.

The parties mentioned the exchange of experiences in the health infrastructure systems of the United States and economic cooperation for interventions in health establishments in Ecuador, this as an innovative strategy that will strengthen solid waste management practices and consumption. of sustainable energy technologies.

The USTDA team will hold constant meetings with the authorities of this State portfolio to coordinate possible cooperation and intervention agreements. “At the moment, as the Ministry of Public Health, we are promoting technological transformation services and starting with pilot projects in different establishments so that our patients receive care from specialists or subspecialists without having to physically travel,” Guerrero mentioned.

Likewise, he highlighted the beginning of technological updating, development of health information systems and personnel training. “Your collaboration is timely at this time. His experience and track record in the field of health cooperation will be a valuable support for our projects” he concluded.

The meeting was also attended by Daniel Sánchez-Bustamante, USAID Ecuador director; Keith Eischeid, Senior Country Manager, Latin America and the Caribbean; Alex Lewis, Environment, Science, Technology and Health officer at the US Embassy; and Brandon Rigby, delegate of the Consular Section of the Embassy of the United States in Ecuador.

The Ministry of Public Health maintains cooperation ties for the benefit of the population and promotes actions to improve the quality of care received by users and patients in all health establishments nationwide.
