“What does the word radical mean? I say clearly, these are fascists and communists. They will come, they come everywhere. But if they seize power in the Seimas, it will be a sad picture,” said V. Landsbergis to Elta.

E. Vaitkä criticizes

Reacting to this week’s ELTA debate leader Eduard Vaitkaus’s idea to ask citizens whether it is worth staying in NATO, the honorary chairman of the Conservatives compared him to a comrade of Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Vaitkus is working with Putin’s belt,” emphasized V. Landsbergis.

As previously announced, during the ELTA debate, when asked whether Lithuania should remain in the Alliance, E. Vaitkus assured that the citizens should answer this question.

“The people of Lithuania should decide whether we participate in the activities of an aggressive military bloc. And should decide whether the advantages are greater or the disadvantages. I am also talking about making the discussion big and broad before the referendum”, said E. Vaitkus.

ELTA reminds that conservative leader G. Landsbergis told Elta that he sees the dangerous strengthening of undemocratic forces in Lithuania. As a result, according to the politician, parties on the left and right of the center could negotiate and thus prevent radical forces from coming to power after the autumn elections.

After the leader of the Social Democrats, Vilija Blinkevičiūta, said that after the next parliamentary elections, she could see a possible ruling coalition both with “Nemunas Aušra” led by Remigius Žemaitaitis, and with the Liberals, the chairwoman of the latter political force, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, emphasized that the Liberal movement is not on the way with populists or “after anti-Semitism radicals gathered under the flag”.
