Abu Dhabi : UAE’s public and private sector leave benefits consolidated The Ministry of Human Rights and Indigenization made this clear on Monday.

As per this, the employees in the private sector will also get the same leave benefits as in the government sector. The new decision will take effect on February 2, 2022. This is in accordance with Federal Law 47 of 2021.

Full-time employees in the private and public sectors are entitled to a 30-day annual leave. Employees who have completed six months on the job are entitled to two paid vacations per month for one year.

Private and public sector employees also get 60 days maternity leave. Of these, 45 days will be full pay and 15 days will be half pay.

Employees are entitled to maternity leave along with other approved leave. The employer does not have the power to dismiss a person for taking maternity leave.

The father is entitled to five days’ leave for a period of six months after the birth of the child.

Leave is allowed for five days in case of death of spouse and three days in case of death of next of kin. Sick leave is allowed for 90 days a year. Of these, 15 days will be full pay, 30 days will be half pay and the rest will be unpaid leave.

UAE inside or outside the UAE Employees studying in recognized educational institutions or universities are also entitled to 10 days leave per year for examinations.
