Chennai: To prevent the spread of Kovit-19 virus among the people, the 9th phase vaccination camp was held at 50,000 places in Tamil Nadu yesterday.

Vaccination work continued in 2,000 places in Chennai alone.

Millions of people from across the state came to the camp and were vaccinated.

Of the eight camps in Tamil Nadu that have been completed so far, 73% have been vaccinated with the first installment and 35% with the second installment.

Vaccination work is in full swing to make Tamil Nadu the first state to vaccinate 100% of the population by the end of this month.

Public Welfare Minister Ma Subramaniam had said that a ‘mega’ vaccination camp would be held on Thursdays and Sundays every week to expedite the two-phase vaccination.

Accordingly, “Vaccination camps are held two days a week near the homes of the public for their convenience.

“The public should not hesitate to come and get vaccinated immediately,” health officials said.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that 782 people have been newly infected with the corona virus in Tamil Nadu in the last 24 hours.

A total of 27 lakh 17 thousand 203 people have been affected by this disease in Tamil Nadu so far. 5 lakh 56 thousand 649 of them have been affected in Chennai alone. The number of people who have recovered from the disease so far in Tamil Nadu is 26 lakh 71 thousand 668.

A statement from the Public Health Department said, “The total number of people in isolation is 9,211. 907 people recovered in the last 24 hours and returned home. Thirteen people died from the infection. The total death toll is 36,324. A total of 8,581 people were killed in Chennai alone, ”it said.
