Vaccine against omicron within 100 days; Announced by Pfizer and Modena

by time news

Pfizer and Modena say they will soon develop a vaccine against Omikron, a new Kovid variant found in South Africa. The scientists said there was no need to worry and that the vaccine could be developed and delivered to the public within 100 days. Currently, the Omikron variety has been confirmed in South Africa, Europe, Israel and Hong Kong.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said in a statement on Monday that it was conducting a detailed study of the new variant and needed to be vigilant. Scientists have warned that omicron is genetically different from its predecessor and may therefore be more dangerous. It may take weeks for this to become clear.

Researchers also say that cats need to be included in any precautionary measures against the virus.
