The explanation is that he did not fall asleep while driving and lost control of the tourist bus due to sudden braking by KSRTC. He says that he has been working as a driver for a long time and there is no mistake on his part.

In the Vadakancheri road accident, KSRTC stated in the High Court that the over speeding of the tourist bus was the cause of the accident. This has been informed in the report submitted following the direction of the High Court. Justice Devan Ramachandran said that the speed limit for vehicles should be tightened and the situation in which children lost their lives is very serious.

The central government has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those who died in the accident. Fifty thousand rupees will be given as compensation to those injured in the accident.

Around 50 injured people were admitted to Thrissur Medical College, Alathur Taluk Hospital, Nenmara Avitis Hospital and Palakkad District Hospital.
