Val-de-Marne: fatally stabbed, he collapses in the middle of the street

by time news

Screams and amazement. The shock was immense, this Friday evening, for the very many passers-by present near the town hall and the Villeneuve-Saint-Georges station. There, barely five minutes after 8 p.m. and in the middle of the street, a man was stabbed in the abdomen several times.

He collapsed further and despite the intervention of the emergency services, who tried for an hour to revive him, the young man died of his injuries. His alleged attacker, who started running bare-chested, trying to flee, was stopped by passers-by. A crowd of several dozen people was present during the attack. The stabber was later arrested and taken into custody.

The circumstances of the attack still unclear

We still do not know this Saturday morning what are the causes of this attack, which took place at the corner of rue de Paris and rue de la Marne. The investigation was entrusted to the departmental service of the judicial police, which will first have to identify the victim, who would be in his twenties. The brawl could have taken place between two homeless people who navigate in this central district of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges.

The alleged stabber is a 29-year-old homeless Afghan. Without knowing why, he stabbed his victim twice, in the stomach. Part of the knife broke in the abdomen of the attacked young man, who took a few steps to a building hall at 7, rue de la Marne, where he collapsed on the ground.

The emergency services tried, in vain, to revive him, not far from the panicked passers-by. Part of the knife used by his attacker was found on the ground, rue de Verdun.
