He was saved at the last minute as flames ravaged a pavilion. A man was fortunately found in time by firefighters this Sunday morning, after the outbreak of a violent fire in the pavilion where he was located, in Saint-Prix (Val-d’Oise).

It was around 7 a.m. when emergency services were called to rue Maignan-Larivière, a road which goes up towards the Montmorency forest. When they arrived there, they found an individual home already completely engulfed in flames.

The firefighters immediately took action to bring the fire under control, but unfortunately with very little information to coordinate their intervention. At this time, they don’t know if anyone is inside. Three lances will be deployed, one used aerially from the top of a ladder.

The sixty-year-old hospitalized in Garches in serious condition

At the same time, searches were organized and firefighters discovered an inanimate man on the floor of one of the rooms. The victim is in cardiorespiratory arrest. But the firefighters immediately provided him with resuscitation care, soon assisted by the Smur teams.

And this early treatment will allow vital functions to restart. The 64-year-old man was evacuated to Garches hospital (Hauts-de-Seine) in a condition which remained very critical. His prognosis was still poor during his hospitalization.

In total, more than six hours of intervention were necessary to bring the fire under control. The firefighters used a drone to coordinate their action in order to avoid any spread in this delicate area, the upper part of Saint-Prix, which is both urbanized and very close to the forest.
