Val Gardena, schoolchildren at the Selva Alpine training center: the thrill of climbing on the “gazelles” – Pusteria Gardena Badia

SELVA DI VAL GARDENA. At the headquarters of Carabinieri Alpine Training Centrethe soldiers of the Training Center, the Ortisei Company and the Laives Dog Unit organized a day dedicated to the “Culture of Legality”, an initiative promoted by the General Command of the Carabinieri on a national scale, in which the students of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd class of the Selva di Val Gardena primary school.

The children were welcomed by the Commander of the Alpine Training Center, Colonel Nicola Bianchiwho illustrated to them the various activities carried out by the Carabinieri, in particular those linked to the mountains and the protection of the territory.

The activities then continued outside, where the Carabinieri illustrated the main characteristics of some specialized structures of the force. The guys had it the opportunity to see the Center’s instructors at work engaged in rope maneuvers, to attend a demonstration of Dog unit in the search for weapons and drugs and finally of sfly on the cars of the Radiomobile Unit observing the activities and equipment that soldiers use in their daily service.

The activity had a strong educational impact by promoting awareness of the value of safety, respect for the environment and teamwork. The accompanying teachers underlined the importance of these particular experiences which enrich the students’ learning path and stimulate their curiosity towards professions that play a fundamental role within the community.

The meeting then ended with thanks from the children and a group photo, a concrete sign of the Army’s commitment to the new generations, an experience that, without a doubt, will remain in the hearts and minds of the young participants.
