Pastor and singer André Valadão used social media to address a topic that has been the subject of concern by some Christian leaders, which is masculinity. Questioning “where are the men?”, the religious leader criticized what seems to be a cultural tendency to encourage male fragility.
“Fragile, emotional, wounded, fearful, needy, weak, indecisive, cowardly, stupid, pornographic, eternal teenagers, uncommitted, a true HORROR has been the portrait of many men these days”, shot Valadão.
The reaction of the pastor who is global leader of Lagoinha Baptist Church is not by chance, considering that activist groups, especially feminism, have been propagating narratives to combat what they call “toxic masculinity”, in order to deconstruct the historical view linked what it means to be a man.
In practice, contrary to what some imagine, it is not a question of combating sexism, exactly, what is needed, but masculinity itself, considered by many ideologues – liberal cultural engineers – an inheritance of the supposedly “oppressive” patriarchy. .
Behind all this, in reality, is the fight against the figure of the Christian man, whose biblical role is to protect, provide for and lead his family. In this sense, Valadão’s words find support in the reality of current culture, so he continues in his comment:
“I’m sorry, but it’s been a while since I’ve been scared by what I’ve seen, a generation of men so ‘wounded’, ‘hurt’ at a level of PORCELAIN fragility!”, says the pastor, stressing that the world needs “strong” men ” and “warriors”, “pressure bearers”, being able to fight for their families.

“MEN IN NEED OF THERAPIES, CARECES AND COMPLIMENTS. TOO NEEDY MEN ”, continues Valadão, then arguing that he is not sexist, but that he knows very well“ what is the place of man ”.
