Valentino Rossi achieves his first victory in cars in a BMW

Valentino Rossi continues to make history on four wheels. He was not worth it with the motorcycles, but now the man from Tavullia has achieved his first victory in his new adventure in the world of cars. The #46 has won the second round of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup at the Misano circuitwhich in the end is the first victory in the racing series, and above all, the first in his recently inaugurated motorsport career.

This year it already smelled of victory. The Italian and his team have already achieved several podium finishes since January 2023, and now he takes the first overall victory in the second round of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup, also at his home track in Misano. Next to him, Maxime Martin, official BMW driver, has climbed into the first drawer.

Perhaps there was some luck in the team’s victory. When Martin reached the mandatory box stop they were in third position. The WRT BMW duo then benefited from the problems of their opponents and teammates, who were leading the race. It was then that during the stint, Rossi extended his lead and from there, straight to the finish line to win.

So ‘The Doctor’ managed to cross the finish line in first position. Rossi treasured so much emotion after passing the finish line first, that you could even see how tears escaped inside the cockpit. In their wake, they also displayed an endless number of flares that burned among the spectators and supporters of Rossi.

Behind the Italian, Lucas Legeret and Christopher Haase managed to pass seconds across the finish line, aboard the Comtyou Racing Audi. However, Rossi’s advantage was dominant, since he managed to take more than 4 seconds from the two pilots.

Not everything has been roses this weekend. The victory comes after a tough weekend in which, in yesterday’s race, they didn’t even make it to the podium. Rossi and Martin did not start in a very good position, although they did manage to climb up a few places to finish fourth.

In the sprint championship classification they are already in 6th position with 14 points. They are still far from the first, which currently has 40.5 points.
