Valérie Hayer criticizes the project to “weaken France” led by Jordan Bardella

The European campaign is well and truly launched. The head of the Macronist list Valérie Hayer responded on Sunday to Jordan Bardella’s speech by castigating the project of “erasure” and “weakening of France” carried, according to her, by the National Rally.

“Erasing is the project of the National Rally, (a project) to weaken France,” tackled the MEP on BFMTV. She was responding to the campaign launch speech of her competitor Jordan Bardella, who had singled out Emmanuel Macron as “the great eraser” of France on a European scale, during a meeting in Marseille earlier on Sunday.

Hayer pits balance against nothing

The RN European deputies “did not work”, continued Valérie Hayer, appointed in recent days to lead the presidential majority list for the June 9 elections. “Jordan Bardella ran on TV sets. But in terms of results in the European Parliament, nothing and in terms of activity, nothing. We have an assessment,” she continued, while expressing her weariness at having to “comment morning, noon and evening on Jordan Bardella’s tweets or interventions.”

The RN has an “anti-European project to dismantle the European Union, which, under the guise of protecting the French, in fact, will very clearly weaken them,” added the candidate. “They don’t want to talk about Europe. They are there to re-match the presidential election and they consider that it is a mid-term election,” she said.

“I am legitimate to be at the top of the list”

Unknown to the general public, Valérie Hayer tried to reaffirm her “legitimacy” in the face of questions about her notoriety. “This is the comment people make to me every day. Now I think we need to move on. I think I am legitimate to be at the top of the list today,” she declared.

Asked also about the possible support that her group in the European Parliament, Renew, could provide to the candidacy of Ursula von der Leyen for a new mandate at the head of the Commission, Valérie Hayer replied that she wanted to wait for “the result of the election.” “Why couldn’t we claim to have the presidency of the European Commission at Renew? Why not. This is a real question that arises and we will do everything for it. We will then see if the conditions are met or not,” she added.
