Line up pictures of great actors on festive days like Deepavali and Pongal. Thus, for this year’s Pongal festival, Ajith’s Strength, Rajamavuli’s RRR and Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam were scheduled to hit the screens. Promotional work for these films started a month ago and has been in full swing.
But now that the corona spread across the country is accelerating, various restrictions are being imposed. It includes night curfews, which allow only 50 percent of the audience in theaters, and restrictions, including full curfews on Sundays.
All three of the above films were postponed, considering that if the film was released at this time, it would not earn enough collections. The postponement of these films was strong enough for small budget films. Thus 7 small budget films are released in Pongal Race.
Accordingly, for this year’s Pongal festival, Sasikumar’s ‘Kompu Vachcha Singamta’, Vidharth’s ‘Karban’, Satheesh’s ‘Nai Sekar’, Ashwin’s debut film ‘Enna Solla Pokirai’, Lakshmi Menon’s ‘AGP’, Radhika’s ‘Marutha’ and Vignesh’s ‘Pasakkara Piya’ ‘Are out.
In this situation, the theater owners are complaining that Pongal is not able to earn enough income due to the new films released in the theaters. The owners are also claiming that the release of strength but only can compensate for their loss.
