Chennai: To celebrate Vallalar Mupperum, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin released the ‘Vallalar – 200’ logo, envelope and special flower today (Oct. 5) and inaugurated the year-long charity event.
The news published in this regard: “Vallalar – 200” logo, envelope and special flower were released by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin today (Oct 5) at Arulmiku Kapaleeswarar Karpakampal Wedding Hall, Raja Annamalaipuram, Chennai to celebrate the Vallalar Mupperum Festival. He inaugurated the first week of celebrations and the annual alms giving event.
Ramalinga Adikalar popularly known as Tiruvarut Prakasa Vallalar, who sang “Whenever I saw a withered crop, I withered”, was born on 5.10.1823 at Marudur near Chidambaram. The spiritualist Vallalar founded the Samarasa Suddha Sanmarka Sathya Jnana Sabha. He stopped the sacrifice of life in the name of God. He also established Satya Daruma Road in Vadalur to alleviate the hunger of the people. He spread equality, education, meditation among the people. He has written many spiritual books like Thiruvarutpa, Jeevakarunyam, Arulnorami.
In the announcement of the Hindu Religious Endowment Department grant request for the year 2022-2023, “The 156th anniversary of Vallala Peruman’s establishment of the Dharamsala (25.05.2022) and the 200th year (5.10.2022) of Vallala Peruman’s coming to this world (5.10.2022) Jyothi As the 152nd year of his appearance (5.02.2023) is coming up, a special committee will be formed to combine these three events and hold a triple festival in major cities for 52 weeks from October 2022 to October 2023, the year of his 200th incarnation.
Accordingly, a 14-member special committee headed by Dr. PK Krishnaraj Vanavarayar was constituted by the Government of Tamil Nadu to conduct the triple celebration of Aru Prakasa Vallalar.
Celebrating the 200th year of Vallalar’s birth, 156th year of his establishment of Dharamsala, as well as 152nd year of Jyoti Darshan, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurated the Vallalar Mupperum Festival and said, “Vallalar Taniperungarunida special flower, Pure Sanmarka Anbarar Marishyur Sathasivam” , S.M. Sivaraman, Thanalakshmi, M. Balakrishnan, Sivaprakasa Swami and honored them by wearing bonnati and presenting mementos.
Following this, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu launched a year-round food donation program from 5.10.2022 on the occasion of Vallalar’s Triennial Festival.
