PSV Eindhoven are still looking for a replacement for coach Roger Schmidt, who is expected to leave at the end of the season. According to reports in the Netherlands, the search seems to be over and former legend Rod van Nistelrooy will be on the lines next season along with Fred Rotten as his assistant.

The former Manchester United striker and Real Madrid are currently coaching Eindhoven’s young team and in the not-too-distant past said he still does not feel ready to be Schmidt’s successor in the seniors, but seems to have relented in the end.

The experienced Rotten (59) has previously served as Eindhoven’s coach for three years and as an assistant for five years. In addition to PSV, Rotten served as coach of Schalke, Twente, Feyenoord, Vitesse and Anderlecht and of course Maccabi Haifa in 2018.
