BOLZANO. The works for the Varna bypass are in full swing. In collaboration with the company carrying out the works, the Bressanone municipal police and the Valle Isarco Roads service, the planners have decided to close the northern section of the ring road until July 10th.
The Varna roundabout will be built while the ring road is open. The decision was made following the significant traffic problems recorded on Monday, July 1.
During the construction of the ring road, the workers are laying the empty conduits of Terna’s high voltage linewhich must cross the existing route with pipes at the height of the Bressanone Nord junction. To install the 12-meter long pipes, a trench approximately three meters deep and two meters wide will be dug along the carriageway. During the works, other infrastructure will be laid and the roundabout built. Initially the section of the western ring road was scheduled to be closed until July 20. The significant traffic problems recorded on July 1st led to the decision to optimize construction workwhich provide for a complete closure only until July 10. The roundabout will be built, the Bressanone ring road will remain open and traffic will flow along a detour.
Additional signage will be installed at key intersections in the city center to alert drivers of the closure. All local public transportation will remain in operation.
