Varna Ring Road to be Open to Traffic by 2025 – News

BOLZANO. Work on the Varna ring road continues. The progress was inspected by the councilor for mobility and infrastructure, Daniel Alfreidertogether with the mayor of Varna, Andreas Schatzerand to the mayor of Bressanone, Andreas Jungmann.

The person in charge of the construction site, Andreas Pichler assured that the ring road should be open to traffic by the end of 2024. The works have been underway for about 2 and a half years and once finished they will conclude a temporal journey, from the idea to the project, which lasted almost 30 years.

In the meantime, 50,000 cubic meters of construction material have been moved and 6,000 linear meters of large bored piles have been installed. “The Varna bypass will improve the entire transport network of the entire Brixen basin and its surroundings and thus also the quality of life in the city center,” said the provincial councilor Daniel Alfreider.

The Province is currently engaged in six separate ring road construction sites that, once completed, will ease traffic in city centers.” Two new roundabouts have been added to the planned 1.5-kilometer-long ring road. The new stretch of road will wind through two separate tunnels, interspersed with an uncovered central section. The ring road is being built by construction companies Goals from Bogl, Wipptaler Bau and Gasser Markus.
