After eliminating Atlético-GO in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil and recovering in the Brasileiro, Vasco is refocusing on the Copa do Brasil. The team, coached by Renato Paiva, comes off a streak of six unbeaten games and wants to bring back a good result to Paraná. The Cruzmaltino will miss the presence of right-back Pedro Henrique, suspended due to a third yellow card. Forward David is also out after being hospitalized with facial cellulitis. Another absence is midfielder Philippe Coutinho, who is recovering from a COVID-19 infection. On the other hand, reinforcement Jean David will be included in the lineup and could make his debut.

Divided into three competitions, Athletico-PR aims to repeat their 2019 success and lift the national trophy. Coach Martín Varani will welcome back Mateo Gamarra and Bruno Zapelli, who did not play in the match last Monday (26). However, the Furacão will be without midfielder Fernandinho and forward Pablo, both sidelined due to muscle injuries. Additionally, Praxedes and Zé Vitor are also unavailable for the match as they have already participated in the Copa do Brasil with other teams.

This will be the third opportunity for the teams to face each other in the national competition, with one qualification for each side.
