The Mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, sent a team of 12 people to the voluntary formation of the Metropolitan Municipality in Karlovo to participate in extinguishing the fire in the Beklemeto area.
“In these extremely difficult days, it is important to show solidarity and support each other. I am grateful to the volunteers and the employees of the Metropolitan Municipality, who are involved in the fight against fires in the territory of the country. “Volunteers from the Municipality of Sofia have undergone training, have the necessary equipment and can provide professional assistance in extinguishing fires,” said Mayor Vasil Terziev.
The request for help was made by the mayor of Karlovo, Dr. Emil Kabaivanov, in connection with a fire that occurred and its rapid growth in the Staroplanin pass. Metropolitan volunteers have the necessary equipment and will assist the firefighters in extinguishing the fire.
Since yesterday, 12 people, led by the director of “Emergency Assistance and Prevention” Krasimir Dimitrov, have been involved in controlling the fire in Voden. Yesterday, together with the firefighters and the forces of the Bulgarian Army, who are on the ground, they managed to limit the perimeter of the fire. The APP team remained in Voden and continues his work today.
