Vatican Office in the UAE

Dubai: The Vatican has opened an embassy in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Pope Francis’ representative Archbishop Edgar Pena Para officiated.

UAE Minister Noora Bint Mohammed Al Kabi, President of the Vicarage of Southern Arabia Bishop Paul Hinder and representatives of the Vatican were also present.

The Vatican delegation said the embassy would help further strengthen diplomatic ties with the UAE, which stands for equality and tolerance.
