Berlin – The rise in prices in Germany is accelerating. In September the inflation rate was already 4.1 percent. The Federal Statistical Office announced on Wednesday in Wiesbaden. This means that the rate of inflation is higher than it has been in 28 years. Inflation is fueled – in addition to statistical one-off effects such as the withdrawal of the VAT cut – above all by exploding energy costs. This makes the topic politically explosive. The social association VdK is already calling on the coming federal government to act. The next coalition agreement must contain “urgent proposals for solutions”.
