Thousands of runners will fill the streets of the Historic center, zone 9 and 4 of Guatemala City during the 10K Night which will be held on Saturday, April 20. Activity for the night 10K race will begin in the afternoon
Amilcar Montejothe spokesperson for the Municipality of Guatemala, shared details about the operation that will be carried out during the 10K Nightone of the most anticipated races of the year in which thousands of runners walk the streets of Guatemala City.
The activities related to the race will begin on Saturday afternoon. It is expected that around 3:00 p.m. the transfer of furniture and equipment will begin; on the other hand, at 4:00 p.m. it is estimated that the first participants will arrive at the place. Take into account that from these times the vehicle load could increase in the vicinity of the Municipality of Guatemala and other points where the race will take place.

Schedule of vehicle closures during the Night 10K
It is estimated that the streets will be closed starting at 7:00 p.m., in preparation for the start of the race, scheduled for 10:00 p.m. The closures along the race route cover important road arteries of the City, including Sixth and Seventh avenues between zones 1, 4 and 9, as well as the Reforma Avenue sector from the National Palace of Culture to Plaza España.
Once the race is over and starting at 10:00 at night, all roads will be enabled, and Municipality staff will be working to clean the areas and ensure that Guatemalans can use them without problems. Throughout the operation, the Municipal Traffic Police will deploy 200 agents and there will be 5 thousand signaling units to guarantee a safe and fluid development of the event.
