Vehicle production closes September positively and manages to reach 210,510 units, with an increase of 4.8% compared to the same month of the previous year. This slight rebound is mainly due to the improvement in the stability of the supply of components and materials that has allowed us to recover the monthly evolution rate prior to the pandemic, but still with lower volumes.
Also during the nine months that have passed this year, there has been a growth of 14% with 1,824,128 units produced, although it still represents 14.2% less than in 2019pre-pandemic year.
By type of vehicle, the manufacture of passenger cars was 160,240 units during the month of September, 6.7% more than the same month in 2022. For its part, production of commercial and industrial vehicles fell during the ninth month of the year 1% compared to the same period of the previous year, with a total of 50,270 units.
Regarding exports, during the month of September a total of 197,709 units were sent outside our borders, 13.5% more than in the same period of 2022. As for the accumulated figure for the year, during the first nine months the Exports experienced an increase of 20.3%, with 1,675,440 units exported, a figure that demonstrates the gradual recovery of exports.
In relation to destinations in Europe, during the month of September they accounted for 89.6% of vehicle shipments, which represents an increase of 1.5 percentage points compared to the same month of the previous year. Likewise, the volume of units delivered to European destinations increased by 15.3% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Likewise, the production of zero and low emission vehicles (electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, conventional hybrids, natural gas and LPG) increased by 64.9% compared to the same period in 2022, with a total of 49,908 units, which represents 23.7% of September’s production quota, increasing almost 9 percentage points compared to the same month of the previous period.
