Veliko Tarnovo is permanently among the most preferred destinations for Romanian tourists. Only in the year 2023, the museum sites and expositions in the old capital city and Arbanasi were visited by 54,658 people from our northern neighbor. This is over 31% more compared to 2022 and nearly 67% more compared to the pre-Covid 2019 year, according to the municipal tour operator.
The lasting interest is also a fact during the International Tourism Exhibition ROMANIAN TOURISM FAIR (TTR), which is being held in the Romanian capital Bucharest from today until February 18. Bulgaria’s stand is one of the most impressive at the exchange, and Veliko Tarnovo is among the leading destinations in the Bulgarian presentation, with which a team from the Municipal Tourist Agency “Tsarevgrad Tarnov” has engaged.
Official guests at the opening were the ambassador of Bulgaria in Romania Radko Vlaikov and the head of the office for trade and economic affairs Ivaylo Marinov. The manager of “Tsarevgrad Tarnov” Borislav Yordanov met with them and held a conversation about this year’s edition of the International Tourist Exhibition “Cultural Tourism”, at which representatives of Romanian tour operators and tourist influencers are expected.
