Patna/Dehradun: The server of engineering admission exam in VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) itself was infiltrated. Bihar connection of paper leak case has come to light in Dehradun. A joint team of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Dehradun and Special Task Force (STF) of Meerut busted a gang involved in cheating in online engineering admission exam. Two members were arrested in the paper leak case. Police said that confidential information was received regarding cheating and cheating in competitive examinations by some institutions in Dehradun. After this, the joint team raided the examination center located in Raipur area. Jitesh Kumar of Sitamarhi district of Bihar and Rahul Kumar of Muzaffarpur district were arrested. He told that the gang leader Kulveer of Haryana and Gaurav Yadav of Bijnor of Uttar Pradesh are still absconding, efforts are being made to arrest them.
Intrusion into the server of the exam center itself
During the raid on an institute named ‘Edu Choice Consultancy’ located on Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun, a laptop, three mobile phones, admit cards of the candidates and other documents were also recovered from the possession of the arrested accused.
During interrogation, the accused told that even before the examination, they used to take ‘access’ to some systems through the ‘server’ room in the examination center and from the ‘server room’ itself, they used to solve the papers of the candidates online through ‘paper solver’. Used to deposit.
The setting was done for one to one and a half lakh rupees.
The accused said that between April 20 and April 25, the online entrance examination of ‘Vellore Institute of Technology’, a private institute based in Tamil Nadu, was conducted. In which he solved the papers of the candidates. When they were searched, the police team recovered mobile phones, laptop tops and admit cards and application numbers of some candidates who appeared in the entrance examination held from April 20 to 25.
The ‘display’ copy of the online examination was recovered.
In this case, on the basis of the complaint given by Meerut STF, a case has been registered in Raipur police station against Rahul Kumar, Jitesh Kumar, Kulveer resident of Haryana and Gaurav Yadav of Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. The accused told that in return for getting the paper solved, they take an amount of Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh from the candidates, which they then distribute among themselves.
