Vellore player Rs. 2.50 lakh in financial support- Dinamani

The Vellore athlete, who will participate in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship to be held in New Zealand from November 24 to December 4, will receive Rs. 2.50 lakhs as financial assistance.

Eva, a weightlifter, has won a gold medal in the state level competition held in 2020. He first trained at a weightlifting gym in Sattuvachari and later excelled in boxing.

In this situation, he has been invited to participate in the 63 kg weight category in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship to be held in New Zealand from November 24 to December 4.

For this Rs. 3 lakh out of Rs. 50,000 from Vellore District Collector B. Kumaravel Pandian was the first to give encouragement from his discretionary fund.

Subsequently, Kavita’s coach Yuvraj made an effort to raise another Rs. 2.50 lakh has been given by H. Edwin, who is working as a director in the office of the King of Sharjah. This fund was presented to Kavitha by Edwin’s brother H. Rosario in the presence of District Collector B. Kumaravel Pandian on Thursday.

Manager of Sathuvachari Weightlifting Training Center Noilinjan, District People’s Rights Protection Organization R. Kamalapathy, Social Workers M. Gurumurthy, Archunan, Nambi Bhaskaran and others were present.
