Veneto lowers the age for breast screening to 45 – Health and Wellbeing

(ANSA) – VENICE, 01 OCT – The Veneto Region, starting from 1 January 2025, will increase the minimum age for access to free mammography screening from 50 to 45 years. The president of Veneto, Luca Zaia, announced it this morning, on the first day of Pink October.
Underlining the importance of prevention, the governor recalled that in 2023 “274 thousand women underwent screening, which allowed 1,810 tumors to be detected. In Veneto – he added – we have one of the highest participations in Italy for mammography checks , equal to 76.9%”.
