Venezuela asks the UN to resume its responsibility in conflict with Guyana

For a century, Venezuela and Guyana have disputed a border region on the edge of the Atlantic and rich in natural resources. The dispute over this oil zone has caused an increase in diplomatic tensions. And although the International Court of Justice is in charge of handling the case, Venezuela asks the United Nations (UN) to resume its responsibilities in the negotiations, an intermediary institution in the conflict for years.
