Meanwhile, a plane carrying several former Latin American presidents bound for Venezuela has been unable to take off from Panama City because Caracas has blocked its airspace.

Senators Felipe Kast (Evópoli) and Rojo Edwards (IND), who traveled to Venezuela to act as international observers of the Venezuelan presidential elections, were deported by the Caracas regime.

Rojo Edwards explained on social media that “the Venezuelan dictatorship did not let us in”adding that “I want Venezuelans to know that from Chile and around the world we will continue to defend freedom and human rights because they deserve it.”

“Nothing the dictatorship does will make us stop our efforts to defend you. Chile is with you, all of Latin America is with you,” Edwards said.

Felipe Kast, for his part, stated that “they tell us that we do not meet the conditions to enter the country, there is no document, it is completely arbitrary. This shows that all the words of some who say that this is a democracy are simply a big lie (…) They are forcing us to leave the country, without any explanation.”

Meanwhile, a Copa Airlines plane, which was transporting several former Latin American presidents to Venezuela, has not been able to take off from Panama City, because Caracas blocked its airspace.
