Despite Maria Corina Machado’s overwhelming victory in the opposition primaries in Venezuela, held on Sunday (22), the candidate’s participation in next year’s presidential election is not guaranteed. Around 2.5 million Venezuelans participated in the primaries. The vote took place just three days after an agreement was signed between the government and opposition in Barbados.
