Venezuela’s opposition called on Monday to demonstrate on January 9, a day before President Nicolas Maduro begins his third presidential term after winning a disputed election.

Maria Corina Machado, the prominent opposition, posted a video clip on platform X in which she said, “This day will go down in history as the day Venezuela said enough is enough.”
She said, “Freedom cannot be asked for, it must be taken, it must be won.”
Venezuela’s election authorities announced Maduro’s victory shortly after the elections ended, but have not yet released detailed results.
Later, the opposition published a large series of polling station results which showed that Gonzalez Urrutia had won by a large margin.
