Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara, 22, star of the film “Is it my fault?”, on whom an international arrest warrant was pending on charges of sexual assault, was arrested on Saturday 2 September in Venice by the police on the days the city hosts the Film Festival. The young actor was at Lido because he won the Filming Italy Best Movie International Award Young Generation, whose ceremony will be held this evening. Guevara’s absence would have been noticed by the fans who were waiting for the interpreter of the series that is all the rage on Prime Video, according to Tpi. The arrest warrant, which led to the detention, was allegedly issued at the request of the French authorities.

The Venice Biennale, in a note, specified that Guevara’s presence in Venice “was not linked to any activity or production of the 80th Venice International Film Festival”.

Guevara, also known for his role in “Skam Spain”, was expected tonight at the Venice Lido, where he would be awarded “for his popular success and a career that is still in its infancy but potentially dazzling”.

However, having heard the news of the arrest by the police, this morning the organization of the Filming Italy Best Movie Award 2023, informs a note, “has suspended any recognition as a precaution, pending the nature of the facts that concern and with complete confidence that justice will take its course”.
